Description
• Potent antipyretic and analgesic properties and mild anti-inflammatory effect.
• By inhibiting PG synthesis, paracetamol resets the thermoregulatory center and brings temperature back to normal
• At the level of hypothalamus,it block the pain pathway from the thalamus to cerebral cortex by inhibiting the PG synthesis,which are mediators of pain

Indication
• In the treatment of pain and fever

Dosage and administration
• Children from 1-5 yrs of age
1-2 suppositories of 125 mg
• Children from 6-12 yrs of age
1-2 suppositories of 250 mg
• Children greater than 12 yrs of age
1-2 suppositories of 500 mg(maximum 4 times in 24 hrs)

Side effects
• Rash or irritation at the site of administration
• Liver abnormalities and damage-rare
