Budeflam inhaler

COMPOSITION
Each actuation delivers:
Budesonide BP…………..100 mcg
Budesonide BP…………..200 mcg

DOSAGE FORM
Inhalation aerosol( a suspension of fine solid or liquid particles in gas )
Budesonide is a potent glucocorticoid (corticosteroids )
Anti-inflammatory effect of budesonide was owing to a local effect
Budesonide administration leads to a reduction in airway edema .

Indications
Budeflam Inhaler is indicated in patients with mild to severe persistent bronchial asthma.
Budeflam Inhaler is not indicated for the relief of acute bronchospasm Dosage And Method of Administration

Adults
- 200-1600 mcg daily, in divided doses.
- Maintenance dose 200-800 mcg daily, in divided doses.
- Patients should be maintained on lowest dose, which effectively controls
   symptoms.
- In patients with mild to moderate asthma who are well controlled on inhaled
   corticosteroids, dosing with budesonide 200 – 400 mcg once daily may be used.

Children
- 200 – 800 mcg daily, in divided doses.

Undesirable Effects
- Cushing-like features
- suppression of immune defense mechanisms
- osteoporosis
- peptic ulceration
- ocular hypertension
